BUENA PARK, CA — Yamaha Corporation of America (YCA) today announced that Preston Gray has been promoted to a newly created position of Field Sales Engineer Manager for Commercial Audio and NEXO products. He continues to report to Paul Furtkamp, director of sales, Yamaha Commercial Audio and NEXO.
In his new role, Gray is responsible for managing an expert group of Field Sales Engineers (FSEs) who provide Yamaha Commercial Audio and NEXO channel partners with pre-sales and technical design support, while closely aligning with their business activities, including project development, engineering, procurement and installation/support.
Gray’s promotion coincides with the sales team’s recent move to provide a systems approach, offering a unified Yamaha and NEXO solution across multiple product segments.
“Preston is a consummate sales professional who is highly skilled in the many facets of our business, and he is very deserving of this promotion,” said Furtkamp. “Just as we have made significant changes in our team to better serve our channel partners, I am confident that Preston will provide exceptional management of our highly talented FSE team to build our ‘trusted advisor’ reputation in the marketplace.”
Gray joined Yamaha in 2016 as a District Manager representing NEXO systems. Prior to working for Yamaha, he was the Audio Department Manager at Morris Light & Sound based in Nashville, TN and has extensive experience as a system engineer on top-grossing country tours.
Gray received his Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in Audio Engineering & Marketing from Belmont University. He lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife, Carson.
