EDINA, MN — Industry veteran Tommy Kim (pictured at left) has been named director of business development for Asia by Movek Corp LLC, makers of the myMix personal monitoring system. Kim will spearhead the development of the myMix brand across a region that Movek founder, Mathias von Heydekampf, described as “a perfect market for us; there is so much potential.”

A highly visible and influential figure in the Asian AV industry, Seoul, Korea-based Kim is looking forward to returning to professional audio and will support and expand the myMix brand throughout the region. “I am very excited to work with the Movek team,” says Kim. “I have great respect for Mathias from my days with Electro-Voice.  I have been onboard with myMix from the beginning, but am now thrilled at the opportunity to build the brand here in my territory.”

“Tommy is a very experienced manager and a good friend. We have some great history together and we’re looking forward to establishing Asia with him,” explained von Heydekampf. ” The Korean market really represents a great opportunity for us – it has a big house of worship community, which is ideal for myMix. Once we build our presence there, it will be easy to expand into other countries, like Japan and China. We know that we’ll have a great future together in Asia.”

PROMEDIA INNOVATIVE SOLUTION GOES MYMIX
In other Asian news, Promedia Innovative Solution (PIS) has been appointed as the new exclusive distributor for myMix in Indonesia. Managing director, Yosua Yan Heriyanto confirms that the personal monitoring system is “a perfect fit for house of worship applications.”

“Mr. Heriyanto, who is a practicing pastor himself, knows firsthand that a huge problem for musicians is not being able to hear what they need and want to hear. myMix is perfect for addressing this,” adds von Heydekampf. “We have many major installations for houses of worship and the main problem now in Indonesia is musicians hearing what they need to hear,” says Heriyanto. “myMix will solve that problem.”

Education will be essential in building myMix’s presence in this region. “We have a dedicated education division and also the School of Sound Recording in Jakarta,” Heriyanto explained. And according to von Heydekampf , “Indonesia is a big, big market and they have a culture of music. We need a strong company who understands education as we need to teach the market what’s possible with myMix. We’re looking forward to working with PIS.”
