PHOENIX – Precise Corporate Staging (PCS) announced that Mike "Woody" Woods has joined its new entertainment division, headed by Gary Brunclik. Woods was previously with Clearwing Productions.
"It's exciting to have Woody on board with Gary, because as so many know, they make a solid team," said PCS president David Stern, noting that Brunclik had previously worked with Woods at Clearwing. "Woody is a talented, results-driven, and versatile production specialist who listens, then delivers for clients," Stern added.
Stern also noted that they've already racked up some impressive work: the Merritt Mountain Music Festival, Canada's largest country festival; the Sturgis Rally, now in its 71st year; and a three-day music and car festival in Spokane, Washington. The company will also continue to serve the Country USA and Rock USA festivals in Wisconsin.
"The opportunity to start a production division with a quality company that is so well endowed with equipment is an opportunity I can't pass up," said Woods. "It's also great to work with Gary again, as we've been in the business for millions of years. We know a lot of people, but more importantly, we know how to make every aspect of production be 100 percent complete with all the gear working 100 percent of the time."
In addition to his experience as project manager for Clearwing Productions, Woods is also past president and CEO of MZW Productions, an event producer in the Pacific Northwest.
Wood's background in pro sound also spans more than 25 years, as an FOH and monitor engineer for multiple Grammy-winning performers and events such as ESPN Fight Night, Microsoft Summits, and NBA All Star events. He's L-Acoustics trained on K1, VDOSC, and Soundvision.
Along the way Woods has also developed sales and service experience in pro audio, lighting, and video products, attending trade shows and industry events to stay current on sound, lighting, and video equipment used for concerts, casinos, theatres, corporate events, and festivals.
At PSC, Woods will be the senior account executive and will be responsible for selling and maintaining customer relationships as well as being project manager and FOH/MON tech.
"I've known David [Stern] indirectly from doing business with PSC, and have always known he has a lot of quality gear packaged really well," Woods said. "He runs a good shop and I appreciate the opportunity to join him."
Woods added that the team already knows what they want to accomplish in the first year. "Instead of grabbing every gig, we'll focus on the top-notch jobs. We'll be working with top-notch clients, and showing them that we know how to make things work."
PSC was founded in 2000, and opened an office in Atlanta in 2006. It is a full-service, live-event rental house with 700 moving lights, 500 color blasts, a complete V DOSC system, and one of the largest lighting inventories on the West Coast.
