MONTREAL, Canada — AVL Media Group, the North American distributor of Lab Gruppen, Klark Teknik, Turbosound, Midas, Tannoy, Zero-Ohm Systems and Spotlight has appointed Derek Black to the position of Accounts Manager. Andrew Hope, Managing Director of AVL, made the announcement from the company’s Montreal headquarters. “Having Derek join AVL is such a positive move for us and we could not be happier. He is known to his peers as a consummate professional and, just as importantly, a good listener. Derek Black has been a professional colleague of mine for years and he always makes sure that the customer’s needs come first.”
Black joins AVL with a wealth of experience, having spent 20 years with Tannoy North America, which later became TC Group. Under the TC umbrella he was responsible for all aspects of territory sales for the Lab Gruppen, Tannoy and TC Electronics brands into the commercial sound and sound reinforcement markets. Subsequent stints with QSC and HHB Canada bolstered his reputation in the professional audio industry.
