LOUISVILLE, KY — ZFX has renovated a 2,400 square feet building of its development facility and world headquarters in Louisville to house the machine shop, leaving over 3,000 square feet of work space for automation specialists.
The creativity department, consisting of flying directors and aerial choreographers, demanded some renovations of their own. This meant beefing up the “Dojo”, ZFX’s 4,500 square feet , high-bay rehearsal space. To this end, ZFX welders added over 20,000 pounds. of I-beam to a steel ceiling structure. Flying directors can now hang half-ton chain-motors from any point in the Dojo quickly. All chain-motors hang from stands that sit on top of the I-beams so that all items can be flown to the full height of 32 feet.
The creativity department staff use the Dojo to explore new ideas in aerial choreography. Flying scenes are designed and choreographed in the dojo, and rehearsals can be videotaped for review.
The expanded rehearsal space also serves the company’s increased focus on the corporate and industrial event industry.
