NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA — JBL VERTEC system owner SE Systems of Greensboro, NC, has been named the recipient of a 2006 TEC Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Tour Sound Production for the North American tour of Alison Krauss and Union Station, featuring Jerry Douglas. The award was presented to SE Systems, as well as FOH engineer Bernie Velluti and monitor engineer Mark Richards, at the 22nd Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards on Saturday, October 7, at the San Francisco Hilton, held during the recent Audio Engineering Society Convention. SE Systems has provided sound reinforcement for Krauss's North American tours since 2001.
"Acoustic music and complex vocal harmonies demand the best from a sound
system," noted David Scheirman, vice president, Tour Sound, JBL
Professional. "Artists, and shows, like Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring
Jerry Douglas, have a 'signature sound,' and acoustic music and bluegrass audiences expect to hear a natural, high-fidelity presentation, even in the large-scale venues where promoters have taken this successful touring act."
