CLEARWATER, FL – Major League Baseball’s 2008 season has begun and the National League East Champion Philadelphia Phillies wrapped up another successful spring training at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla., and were ready for opening day at Citizens Bank Park with a main speaker system comprised of Community’s all-weather WET and R-Series loudspeakers.
The ballpark, completed in 2004, includes 365 WET2W8s, 74 WET215s, 32 WET315s, 23 WET322s, 15 WET920s, 38 R.5s and 4 R2s, as well as a pair of M12 monitors used for on-field vocal performances. With new interior remodeling for 2008, the ballpark was recently equipped with 17 WET Series II W2-312s to cover lower seating areas.
Bright House field is home to Minor League Baseball’s Clearwater Threshers and the spring training facility for the Phillies. Completed in October of 2002 in a joint venture with the Phillies organization and the city of Clearwater, the 8,500-capacity ballpark is a state-of-the-art facility in a classic Floridian design. It includes a complete sound system featuring several models of Community R1, R.5 and WET all-weather loudspeakers.
