BUENA PARK, Calif. — Long Island-raised signer/songwriter, certified rock ‘n’ roll superstar and four-time Grammy winner Pat Benatar embarked on her first live concert tour in more than two years this summer, and both engineers chose Yamaha consoles for front-of-house and monitors.
“This was my first time carrying a PM5000 on tour, and I was immediately impressed with the warmth of the head amps,” states FOH engineer Rick Reith. “The separation and panning of individual inputs really stand out in the mix. With 12 VCAs, complete fader/mute automation, digital recall., this is not your father's PM series mixing console.”
Ken Peden is using a Yamaha PM5D digital console at monitors. “The difference on the first night of the tour was so apparent even our lighting guy noticed,” says Reith. “It's a pleasure working with Ken and the rest of our crew. Both Yamaha consoles have served the tour well.”
Peden is a living legend in the biz. He was one of survivors of the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash in 1977.
