KUALA LUMPUR — The Soundcraft Si3 digital mixing console made its Malaysian debut at the Harman Pro Road Show here and the Monsoon Cup Concert in Pulau Duyong and Terengganu a few weeks later.
The Si3 was selected for its audio quality, capabilities and user interface, which helped engineers mix on the new digital console for the first time.
Systems Electronics and Engineering Sdn Bhd (SENE) supplied the Si3 to Show Gear Production Sdn Bhd, who used the console for the event. Show Gear Production sound engineers were impressed with the Si3’s ease of use and its ability to mix audio effects.
The sound engineers used Soundcraft’s FaderGlow to guide them through the console’s functions and quickly locate where each channel was routed. The Virtual Channel Strip allowed the engineers to control the EQ, mic gain dynamics, auxes and panning.
The Monsoon Cup Concert is the fifth event where Show Gear used the Soundcraft Si3. Show Gear previously used the Si3 for the 2009 New Year’s Eve Countdown for Kota Bharu and for an event staged by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Innovation Malaysia (MOSTI), among others.
