NORMANDY, France — France Galop, a company that owns several horse racing tracks in France, selected an Allen & Heath iLive digital system to manage audio distribution in its Deauville Touques venue. The company’s other racetracks are in Longchamp, Auteuil, Chantilly, Deauville, Maisons-Laffitte and Saint-Cloud. Installed by EV Corporate, the iLive system comprises an iDR10 MixRack and iLive-112 Control Surface, and manages the live PA during races, VIP events, broadcast feeds and horse auctions. France Galop also needed a system that can provide sound to the OB van, as sometimes the broadcast feeds last for more than nine hours for live TV shows

“The racecourse team, managed by Thierry Migeon, chose iLive because of its rapid, easy and flexible design, which enable the system to adapt to the venue’s many different activities,” said Yann Matte from Allen & Heath’s distribution company, Audiopole. “iLive is the perfect choice.”

The iLive system is installed in the race track’s control room, while a laptop loaded with iLive Editor control software and a PL remote controller enable direct access to audio settings at the presenters’ booth.

The venue is already fitted with fiber optic cable between various remote points and the technical control room, so the venue plans to establish digital audio distribution through Audiopole FANMUx CAT5 to an optical splitter/merger, providing digital signal to the Nexo speaker system using the EtherSound protocol.
