MILAN, Italy — With a stage name that means “curly hair” in Italy’s Apulian dialect and a recent album called Le Dimensioni del Mio Caos, the artist known as CapaRezza may revel in unruliness. To keep his sound in line for the thousands who turned out for his recent performance at Milan’s Indroscalo sports complex, however, GM Music once again used Proel’s Axiom and Edge systems.
The Indroscala show, one of 16 outdoor summer concerts planned, used 24 Axiom AX3210P modules and 20 21-inch Edge121SP subs positioned in the sound wings and eight Edge compact C12P96 as front fill. The system was driven by six K10 and two K20 Powersoft amplifiers, one DSO26 digital processor and two Lake Contours. Proel’s audio and power distribution cabling was also used, as was some of its RGB LED strips for lighting.
The crew included FOH engineer Antonio Porcelli and monitor engineer Fabio Favia, who will both continue on his summer tour. Danilo Stramaglia, a newcomer, is also part of the crew, serving as system engineer.
“We have chosen to continue working with the same sound system and the set up as last year’s tour,” said GM Music’s Gianpaolo Tarantini. “No two shows or venues are the same, so flexibility and ease of use are fundamental features for us.
“The Proel system has proven itself time and time again to be a high performance, highly adaptable solution,” Tarantini added. “On a large tour like this, it is also essential to know that you have a solid, well designed and reliable system to work with and the AX3210 in particular has proven itself in every situation.”
