LIVERPOOL and NEWCASTLE, UK — Adlib's specialist sales division, a certified provider for  L-Acoustics, has sold a KARA PA system, fully flight-cased and complete with LA8 amplifiers, to sound, lighting and AV rental company Nitelites.

The sale included 24 KARA loudspeakers, 8 SB18 subs, 8 SB28 subs, 8 LA8 amplifiers and a full set of Adlib-designed flight cases for the KARA, bumps (flying cradles) and amp racks, plus all the associated rigging and accessories to enable the system to be flown or ground stacked as required.

Adlib's flightcases are designed to house 3 KARA speakers each – so 8 cases in total, and 2 bumps per case, serve as a neat and expedient truck pack.

The deal cemented a longstanding relationship between the two companies, particularly over the last seven years, with cross rental traffic in equipment as well as the exchange of resources and knowledge.

The KARA deal was coordinated by Nick Turner for Adlib Sales and Jamie Moore and Andy Magee, both directors of Nitelites.

Along with sound quality, visual aesthetics and ease of use, Nitelites wanted a flexible PA solution ideal for a diversity of applications, live events and different environments – from corporates to rock 'n' roll, theatre productions and classical spectaculars. Their regular work includes supplying sound to numerous concert hall venue gigs of around 2,500 capacity.

Apart from that and the deal that Adlib was able to offer, including after sales service and cross rental opportunities, as an investment, Nitelites was convinced that L-Acoustics would yield a quick return for their outlay.

The new Nitelites KARA system went straight out on its first gig two days after it was delivered from Adlib, and its first full-on tour is the UK leg of chart-topping Australian children's band phenomenon, The Wiggles.

Jamie Moore explains, "We have enjoyed collaborating with Adlib for some time and as they became one of the largest L-Acoustics rental houses in the UK, it made sense for us to buy into the brand." He also noted that he appreciated Adlib’s service and support.

Because the time frame between delivery and the first show was so tight, Moore and Magee underwent a basic training and instruction on the system from Adlib's George Puttock. They have since undergone the full L-Acoustics induction in France.

Nitelites has several other shows and events confirmed for the summer where their new system will be used and supplemented with additional L-Acoustics kit from Adlib, including the Mouth of the Tyne Festival in Newcastle and a spectacular for 20,000 people in Glamis Castle in Perthshire, Scotland.
