Previously sold by Shure as the Model A45Z “Z” bracket for miking guitar amplifiers and speaker cabinets, the A45Z has been out of production for decades. However, it’s now available as the Z-Bar from StageLux Music & Sound, LLC.
Designed for easy placement, this small, lightweight product is a compact, convenient alternative to standard microphone stand and/or boom combinations and easily fits into an instrument case or gig bag.
Made in the USA, the Z-Bar is literally a Z-shaped bar made of black, anodized aircraft-grade aluminum and is used to position any microphone in front of a speaker, either by suspending the bar from the cabinet handle or sliding the unit under the cabinet. The Z-Bar’s adjustable hardware features standard 5/8″-27 mic stand threading and eliminates a floor stand, while permitting precise mic positioning.
The Z-Bar has a $29.95 street pricing and is available from StageLux via Internet suppliers, such as www.reverb.com and www.ebay.com. For more info (or for dealer inquiries), contact zbar@stagelux.com.
