Sennheiser’s EW-DX is the company’s most versatile digital wireless system to date.

Rigorously engineered to meet the needs of demanding pros working in business and educational settings, houses of worship or on stage, the Sennheiser EW-DX is a dual-channel digital UHF wireless system with an extensive feature set designed to simplify workflows while delivering uncompromising audio quality.

The EW-DX EM-2 dual-channel, half-rack receiver is offered in two bands for users in the United States — the Q1-9 band (470.2 – 550 MHz) and the R1-9 (520 to 607 MHz) range. Other country-specific bands are available for worldwide customers and the receiver’s intuitive front-panel controls and high-contrast OLED with meters for RF, battery status of the associated transmitter and audio output make setup a breeze.

Features include a wide 87 MHz tuning range (3,480 available frequencies), intelligent switching diversity, auto-scan, equidistant tuning grid, and a Link Density mode, which all work to provide rock-solid wireless performance and massive channel counts, even in challenging RF environments. The equidistant tuning grid removes the need for frequency coordination and lets users add additional transmitters and receivers for up to 146 mic channels simultaneously and for even more mics, the Link Density mode provides for up to 293 channels on the same system.

Bluetooth capabilities let users remotely sync components and change settings from your phone using the Smart Assist app, while Sennheiser’s Control Cockpit and Wireless Systems Manager software provides computer-based control for more extensive networked setups. The EW-DX is also backwards-compatible with EW-D components.

All transmitters (handheld and bodypack) operate on its included BA70 rechargeable battery for up to 12 hours; or two AA batteries will power the transmitter for up to 8 hours and charging contacts allow for in-device battery charging with the CHG 70N (available separately).

A number of system packages are offered in both the Q1-9 and R1-9 bands: all include the EW-DX receiver and a choice of two transmitters — handheld with interchangeable MMD 835 cardioid capsule and/or SK bodypack with the omnidirectional MKE2 lavalier microphone.

The EW-DX MKE 2/835-S combo (handheld plus lavalier bodypack) set is $2,499; the dual-lavalier EW-DX MKE 2 set is $2,699; and the dual-handheld EW-DX 835-S set is $2,199.
