ORLANDO, FL — For the Orlando Forum Dinner Theatre, a new 280-seat venue on the site of a former Ponderosa Restaurant equipped with new audio, video and lighting systems, Teer Audio Visual provided a NEXO GEO M10 line array and Yamaha CL5 Digital Audio Console with Rio3224-D input/output box.

More details from NEXO and Yamaha (www.yamahaproaudio.com):

“The NEXO and Yamaha products were chosen as the dinner theatre needed a stellar speaker system and the Yamaha console was the clear choice,” states John Teer, managing partner. “The venue puts on huge dinner production shows and they want people in the audience to have the best listening experience possible; thus the need for the best equipment in the business.”

Both Teer and Orlando Forum employees received demos of the NEXO system and Yamaha console before making the final decision on installation. “The NEXO boxes being passive were key for keeping the speaker cluster weights under the limits of what the existing roof could hold without major roof modifications,” says Teer.

The NEXO system consists of 12 M10 line array speakers (6 per side L/R), 4 LS18 subs, 4×1 and 4×4 NXAMP Mk2 amps. NEXO NS1 software was used in the design process. The biggest factor in Teer’s decision came down to compact high power. Pricing was also a key concern. “The client plans to add more subs and front fills as a phase two plan although the system sounds great the way it is,” Teer adds. “The Yamaha CL5 was one of a very few acceptable models for the client’s in-house engineer due to the power and I/O count at its price point.”
