CHATTANOOGA, TN — Located in the southeastern Tennessee city of Chattanooga, The Crossing Church is a multi-generational community of believers lead by Pastors Chad and Ashton Harris. Services and events take place in a modern house of worship with capacity for a congregation of 650 on the ground level and a wrap-around balcony.
An existing sound system was delivering uneven SPL coverage in the space and problems with intelligibility. A mono configuration and lack of headroom were creating further issues at a church with a 35-foot ceiling height and where music is central to the celebration.
So, The Crossing approached Franklin TN-based production services and AV technology specialists Integrated Production Solutions to design a system capable of helping them deliver their mission.
Himself a Chattanooga resident, IPS Account Manager Carter Music takes up the story. “We’d just finished another highly successful NEXO installation and immediately thought of the brand for The Crossing. The NEXO Engineering Support team were very proactive in helping us design a system of 8 x GEOM10s per side with 3 x L15s flown, keeping subs off the floor.
“With phase-aligned processing pre-sets for all NEXO speakers accessible on the NXAMPMk2 powered controllers, it was easy to combine the main line arrays with a pair of NEXO P10 point source speakers for out fills, and compact ID24s for front fills and under balcony coverage.”
Amplification and processing come from just 3 x NEXO NXAMP4X2Mk2 and 1 x NXAMP4X1Mk2 4-channel powered controllers.
“Budget is always an important consideration” comments Carter in conclusion, “and the client is very satisfied with the uncompromised performance of the NEXO system.”
