NSCA Gains Wider Accreditation in Florida

ORLANDO, FL — NSCA executive director Chuck Wilson announced on December 28, 2006, that the Florida Electrical Contractor's Licensing Board and the Florida Board of Professional Engineers have both approved the NSCA (National Systems Contractors Association) as a continuing education provider. The NSCA now offers 12 classes accredited as continuing education courses for those seeking to renew their electrical contractor's license in the state of Florida. A slate of 33 courses scheduled for the NSCA's upcoming Expo 2007 in Orlando will additionally offer CEU credit to help Florida's engineers fulfill their state license renewal requirements.

Klark Teknik Outfits Kentucky Arts Center

LOUISVILLE, KY — The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, in Louisville, features five Midas mixing consoles (Venice 320, XL200, Heritage 1000, Heritage 2000, Heritage 3000), and recently added a rack of four Klark Teknik DN1248 Plus active analog microphone splitters to its equipment list. Dynacord Cobra Installed at University of Maine

ORONO, ME — When the Maine Center for the Arts at the University of Maine (Orono, Maine) announced they were planning a major auditorium renovation in the fall of 2006, Moonlighting Production Services, LLC (Portland, Maine) presented a sound solution to a logistical challenge: the Dynacord Cobra system, which needed to be operational before construction began, and it needed to be easily portable during construction for use in another school venue on a per-show basis. Texas A&M Takes Meyer Sound MILO and SB-1 Sound System

COLLEGE STATION, TX — Behind a black mesh screen atop the 11-story video scoreboard at Texas A&M's Kyle Field in College Station sit two tiers of eight parabolic dishes each, which are actually a complement of Meyer Sound SB-1 parabolic long-throw sound beams. When fired up on game day, the 54 loudspeakers in the system carry announcements and the music-punctuated soundtracks for the videos shown on "12th Man TV" (as the Mitsubishi video screen is known).

[When we first got word that Jeffrey Cox, late of Cox Audio Engineering and the man most responsible for bringing line-array technology to North America (Say what you will, but Cox is the first one to look at a line array and say "Hmmm, that French dude may just be onto something here."), was joining Loud Technologies to head up the EAW brand, we really expected more communication.
