Sziget Festival Features Smashing Performances with Meyer Sound

BUDAPEST — Europe's summer festival season offers an abundance of riches, but Budapest's Sziget Festival stands out as one of its largest and most musically diverse. Held on an island in the Danube, the weeklong festival featured smashing performances by icons ranging from Róisín Murphy to Alanis Morissette, REM and Iron Maiden. With nonstop entertainment at more than 20 different venues and an audience of 385,000 fans, the organizers enlisted a total of more than 400 Meyer Sound loudspeakers to cover the festival's largest stages.

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — JBL VerTec line array loudspeakers were deployed by ATK Audiotek for the Republican National Convention that took place at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. from Sept. 1-4. The convention, which featured major speeches by party leaders and luminaries including President George W. Bush, U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California, Major Gen. Secret Garden’s Last Show Is First with Soundcraft Vi Series V3.0 Software

LONDON — Norwegian band Secret Garden finished off this year’s tour with a special concert including a symphony orchestra. This wasthe first show with the new Soundcraft Vi Series V3.0 software in use. The last concert of the tour was a special outdoor show incorporating a 27-piece symphony orchestra in the band’s hometown of Kristiansand, Norway. With the orchestra and nine musicians/singers on stage, the need for more than 64 channels was obvious.

Harman Professional Opens New Asia, Intercontinental Field Sales Offices

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — In a move to foster closer, more communicative commercial relationships with its channel partners in Asia, Latin America and Canada, Harman Professional has announced the opening of new field sales offices in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Kuala Lumpur Field Sales Office will be led by David McKinney, who is promoted to senior director of Sales, Asia, Harman Professional. Keb’ Mo’ Tours Around the Globe with Digidesign

DALY CITY, Calif. — Every time Kevin Moore puts out an album, he gains a new wave of fans. The urbane bluesman — better known as Keb’ Mo’ — has gone from playing obscure clubs in south central L.A. to filling halls across several continents.
