NORTHRIDGE, CA — XL5 Productions of Valencia, Calif., deployed a wide variety of JBL loudspeakers in its first year as the primary sound reinforcement provider for the annual X Games in Los Angeles.

BUENA PARK, CA – Pianist Lorie Line is currently performing over 80 concerts on “The Glory of Christmas” tour accompanied by The Pop Chamber Orchestra, and this year’s tour is centered around Line’s concert ground piano and featuring many traditional Christmas carols. Ten world-class musicians accompany Line as she and her grand piano take center stage. The audio system, provided by REACH Communications, includes 14 NEXO GEO S1210 boxes for the main line array with two S1230s positioned eight per side, along with 24 GEO S8s for the side hangs.

BUENA PARK, CA — Singer/composer Loreena McKennitt embarked on a North American tour with final stops in 17 U.S. cities in support of her latest studio recording An Ancient Muse and recent DVD/CD release Nights from the Alhambra. Allstar Show Industries, with office locations in Western Canada, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver provide production for the tour. Clive Alcock, one of three directors of the company, mixes front of house for the tour with audio support by a Yamaha PM5D-RH connected to the new DSP5D Expander via a Yamaha DCU5D. Two PM5D-RH consoles are used for monitors with an Aviom interface card in one of the PM5Ds.

BOSTON – This year’s Life@50+ National Event and Expo welcomed 25,000 attendees from all 50 states and ten countries at the new Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Hosted by AARP, a non-profit organization formerly known as the American Association of Retired Persons, the three-day extravaganza featured musical performances by Tony Bennett, Earth Wind & Fire and Rod Stewart. ISTANBUL, TURKEY – Demonstrating JBL Professional VERTEC line arrays, audio company Altincizme Sound & Light Systems supported international pop star Shakira’s concert in Istanbul, Turkey, as part of her “Oral Fixation” tour. The tour, in support of Shakira’s album of the same name, began in June 2006 and included major concert events presented to sold-out audiences in the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa and Central and South America.   

NEW YORK – Radio City Music Hall, a New York City landmark for 75 years, has installed 11 Dolby Lake Processors. The processors are being used for zone control and optimization of a newly installed JBL VerTec sound reinforcement system as well as existing under-balcony speaker, front fill and Dolby movie surround networks at the prestigious 6,000-seat, multi-purpose, indoor theatre.

Provider Series LLC introduces the new PSL6 series of lavalier and theatre-style microphones. The PSL6 lavalier microphone is designed for speech and theatre applications.
