RADOMSKO, Poland – It is official: using a Telefunken Elektroakustik M 80 vocal mic and a Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar, Alex Carlin performed for 32 hours, earning him the new Guinness World Record for "Longest Concert by a Solo Artist." The extended show took place at the Pub Bourbon Street and broke the previous record of 27 hours, 3 minutes and 44 seconds by a French-Canadian known as "Gonzales" in Paris.

STRATFORD-UPON-AVON, U.K. – The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust has opened a new exhibition and visitor center near the house Shakespeare was born. Life, Love & Legacy: A New Introduction to William Shakespeare takes visitors through five zones in an immersive experience, bringing the history of Shakespeare to life.

PARIS – FOH engineer Olivier Lude brought his PRO6 live audio system along for the Mister Mystere tour for French rock singer Matthieu Chedid, aka M. The tour is travelling throughout France, Belgium and Switzerland and will end in June at the Zenith concert hall, Paris.

ZURICH, Switzerland – Swiss distributor Audiotech has installed a Midas PRO6 into the X-Tra Club in Zurich. The club, which hosts a variety of club nights and concerts, has a capacity of around 2,000.

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia – Veteran FOH engineer Andy Meyer is at the helm of Avid's VENUE D-Show console mixing the latest leg of the Guns N Roses world tour. Meyer, who has used VENUE consoles since 2006 on artists ranging from Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson to Sevendust, Motley Crue and Rage Against The Machine, pointed to the console's flexibility as a major asset on this particular tour.

VIENNA – In recognition of Das Weisse Band, an award-winning film, Barbara Prammer, the Austrian parliamentary president, invited the film's director, Michael Haneke, to provide a special showing of the film to an audience of 700 VIPs. DiGiCo's local distributor, Ton Eichinger, provided a DiGiCo SD8 console for the event.

BELFAST, Northern Ireland – The refurbished Metropolitan Tabernacle in Belfast has been equipped with a Studer Vista 5 digital console, the first chosen for a U.K. church. The Tabernacle's in-house technical team, led by Trevor Bowron and Ian McAlees, who completed the install, said it was also the first digital console used by the church.

TIRANA, Albania – Prosound Shpk, EAW's Albanian distributor, designed and installed the sound system for a 600-capacity nightclub that reopened recently. Catering to the needs of DJs and live bands, the club, Mumja, has been equipped with eight EAW JFL210 Compact Line Array Modules and four EAW LA400 Subwoofers.

ZEVENBERGEN, The Netherlands – Dekker Sound used Proel audio gear for "The Music Weekend," which drew a crowd with its blend of music and motor sports. Featured performers using the Proel Axiom system included Jan Smit, de 3 J's, Jannes, Peter Beense and Marco Canters.
