MOUNT KILIMANJARO, Africa – The world record for "The Highest Altitude Rock Gig/Electrical Musical Performance on Land" was set earlier this year at 19,341 feet above sea level, when Sound Driver, a five-piece indie band supported by a group of volunteers carrying gear, trekked up to Africa's highest point before performing amid the threat of sleet, rain, altitude sickness and oxygen deprivation.

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay – Three soundcos joined forces to support Guns N' Roses' stop at Centenario Stadium here recently on the band's Chinese Democracy tour. Close to 30,000 fans heard the band with the help of a large quantity of Aero Series 2 and Aero loudspeaker models from D.A.S. Audio.

GYEONGSAN, South Korea – Opened in 2009, Chunma Art Center at Yeungnam University is using Alcons audio systems in its two main performance spaces – the 1,899-seat Grand Hall and the 510-seat Chamber hall. Both are housed in a technologically-advanced building with seven stories above ground and two stories below.

CUNEO, Italy – A Dog On Tour Service, a pro Audio rental company that specializes in live rock, pop and jazz events, recently added a HK Audio ConTour Array system including four CTA 118 subwoofers and four CTA 208 mid/high units to its rental inventory.

BERLIN, Germany – German comic Cindy aus Marzahn kicked off her 80-date tour, titled  Nicht jeder Prinz kommt uff'm Pferd, or Not Every Prince Comes on a Horseback, with three consecutive nights in Berlin's Tempodrom. Weimar, Germany-based adapoe Event und Studiotechnik GmbH is providing a Meyer Sound system for the tour.

ZURICH, Switzerland – For the touring musical comedy, Die Patienten, audiopool sound designer Thomas Strebel specified Out Board's TiMax2 SoundHub and TiMax Tracker system. Sugar Veranstaltungstechnik supplied the gear, sourced through Out Board's German distributor, Pro Audio Technik.

LONDON – French electronic pop duo, Air, recently completed a tour of Europe and the U.S. to promote their new album, Love2, carrying a combined FOH and monitor iLive digital system from Allen & Heath.

DUBLIN – Following a seven-year hiatus, The Cranberries returned for a European tour showcasing their hits. To reinforce the band at venues from 4,000 to 20,000 people, Dublin, Ireland-based live sound provider Litton Lane deployed a Meyer Sound system based on the MILO line array loudspeaker.

COPENHAGEN – L-Acoustics' Danish distributor, Moto Audio Sales, has extended the system it installed into the Danmarks Radio Concert Hall in Copenhagen, adapting the venue for other uses including rock concerts.
