LONDON – Wigwam Acoustics provided a d&b audiotechnik J-Series loudspeaker system for Hillsong Conference Europe 2011, a religious gathering that filled the O2 Arena for three days of conferences, keynote speeches, rock ‘n' roll-style celebrations and presentations in the form of dance and theatre.

LONDON – London Audio provided a new sound reinforcement system comprised of 15 custom-painted 100V constant-voltage EDGE25PW at the historic Painted Hall in King William Court at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich.

VERONA, Italy – The Verona Opera Festival, which has been performing at a 2,000-year-old Roman amphitheatre since 1913, has never used any sound reinforcement.

SYDNEY, Australia – A public memorial for Bruce Jackson will be held at the concert hall at the Sydney Opera House on Feb. 25, starting at 10 a.m. Jackson, who is credited with numerous live sound innovations and was a sought-after engineer who worked with Barbra Streisand, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, among others, died after the single-engine plane he was soloing crashed in Death Valley National Park in southern California on Jan. 29. He was 62.

SALZBURG, Austria – The Grosses Festspielhaus (Great Festival Hall), home to the Salzburg Festival, recently underwent an audio system upgrade that included a redesigned control room and a Studer Vista 5 digital console. Coinciding with the hall's 50th and the festival's 90th anniversaries, the new Vista 5 was chosen in part for its recording capabilities.

MUSCAT, Oman – Venuetech, LLC designed and supplied the audio system for the new 5,000-seat auditorium at the new Multipurpose Hall at Sultan Qaboos University. An Aviom Pro64 audio network routes signal to and from various locations in the space, including the PA system, control room and production room.

AARHUS, Denmark – TC Group, parent company of TC Electronic, Tannoy, Lab.gruppen, Lake and TC Helicon, is to become part of the AVnu Alliance, the industry forum dedicated to the establishment and promotion of the IEEE 802.1 Audio/Video Bridging (AVB) open network standard.

GUANGZHOU, China – Riedel Communications, makers of real-time networks for video, audio and intercom, installed a comprehensive communications system for the Asian Games in Guangzhou.

DUBROVNIK, Croatia – Tehnozavod-Marusic d.o.o. designed and installed the AV system for the Visia Dubrovnik 5D Theatrum (VD5T), relying on Symetrix SymNet 8×8 DSP to handle routing logic and audio processing for its 3D Cinema, the Show Room and the World Network Room.

BARCELONA, Spain – Focus, S.A. provided an EAW speaker system for the tens of thousands of people attending a ceremony led by Pope Benedict XVI to consecrate La Sagrada Familia church. Focus deployed the system, which included 146 KF730 Compact Line Array Modules plus dozens of other EAW speakers, in the main Plaza Gaudí and throughout the streets in the surrounding area.

GOYANG, Korea – Through its subsidiary, Proel Korea, Proel Group presented demos of its Axiom Line Array with 4" + 2" coaxial compression driver and low distortion 21" subwoofer, and also presented a range of Turbosound products at Kosound + Stagetech, held last fall at Kintex, the Korea International Exhibition Center.
