NORTH LONDON – SFL Group has carried out the first U.K. install of the L-Acoustics KARAi modular WST line source system for permanent installation at Jesus House, a 2,000-capacity church owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

VRHNIKA, Slovenia – Akustika Bahun used its recently-acquired L-Acoustics KARA WST line source system – the first in Slovenia – for a corporate event in the 15,000-seat Stozice in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The gear helped Akustika Bahun overcome challenges with the venue, which include a nine second reverberation time when empty.

UTRECHT, The Netherlands – Martijn Verkerk of TM Audio, a distributor for U.K.-based Out Board, worked with Out Board's Dave Haydon to provide a complete TiMax Tracker and TiMax2 SoundHub system at De Paardenkathedraal, a unique performance space used by Dutch theatre group De Utrechtse Spelen.

NICOSIA, Cypress – Renkus-Heinz distributor S&V MegaSound has kept busy recently with installations completed within a cathedral, conference center and two nightclubs. One of those was at Little Buddha, a club with music that ranges from Latin and Oriental lounge beats to upbeat house tunes as the evening progresses.

LOS ANGELES – A bad case of laryngitis may have forced the cancellation of the last nine sold-out North American performances by British vocalist Adele, but before the tour was cut short, FOH engineer Dave McDonald and monitor engineer Joe Campbell were each supporting British vocalist Adele's U.S. tour with an Allen & Heath iLive digital mixing system. The system included two iLive-112 Control Surfaces with an iDR10 modular MixRack and iDR0 mini Rack, connected via ACE and input sharing over MADI.

DUSSELDORF, Germany – The audio crew for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), which was staged in the Esprit Arena, a soccer venue, had a big challenge hanging over their heads: namely, the arena's corrugated metal roof, which covers more than 22 acres.

MANILA, The Philippines – Soundcheck of Manila provided JBL VerTec line array system for Justin Bieber's recent concert at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. The show, part of Bieber's My World tour, drew about 70,000 fans.

LIVERPOOL, U.K. – Adlib supplied a V-DOSC sound system, DJ set and crew for the recent David Guetta U.K. Tour. Guetta's FOH sound engineer is Hassane Es Siahi, who came onboard last August at the start of a festival tour which was also serviced by Adlib. However, this is the first full DJ set production tour in terms of touring the equipment – Guetta more typically does large one-off gigs at different destinations around the globe, using local productions.

LONDON – Absolute Radio and smart car wanted to stage an event featuring the pop band Scouting for Girls on the third floor of The Bargehouse exhibition venue at London's Oxo Tower. To bypass noise restrictions, the gig, production-managed by LarMac Live Production, was staged "silently" – each of the 150 guests had headsets and the band members and crew were on IEMs.

DAVOS, Switzerland – A key goal for the new sound system in historic Vaillant Arena, home of the Spengler Cup, was for minimal visual impact. And the installation/design team had to be encouraged when venue's owners showed up for an on-site inspection. The owners asked for a timetable projecting when the speakers would be installed. As it turned out, the gear – 42 EAW JFL210 compact line array speakers set in 12 decentralized clusters – was already in place.
