SCANDICCI, Italy – Powersoft announced it has become a promoter member of the AVnu Alliance, the industry forum that aims at establishing and promoting the IEEE 802.1 Ethernet Audio/Video Bridging (AVB) standards. The company called the move part of its plan to significantly expand its presence in the install markets, as well as producing future interoperable, AVB-compliant audio networking products.

ERBUSCO-BRESCIA, Italy – The Qi Clubbing nightclub's new restaurant has been equipped with 20 RCF Monitor 88 units. The stage area features eight RCF H 1312 three-way speakers, and the installed sound system has been beefed up with four RCF DPS 3000 and eight RCF HPS 1500 power amplifiers plus RCF DX 4008 and DX 2006 for digital loudspeaker management.

MOSCOW and KIEV – Harman Professional opened an office in Moscow and completed seminars in Moscow and Kiev that drew some 400 participants from Russia, Ukraine and surrounding areas. The October events were the first in a series of targeted, regional, international roadshows organized by Harman's recently-appointed director of knowledge resources, David Scheirman.

MELBOURNE, Australia – Mighty Rock Performance Technology, a rental operation set up to focus purely on Midas digital consoles and associated accessories, has made its debut in Melbourne. The company, an affiliate of Production Works (Hobart, Tasmania), has Australia's first Midas XL8 in its rental inventory.

ARNEDO, Spain – For the upcoming tour of Spain-based metal band Los Marea, Fluge is providing an E15 system from Adamson Systems Engineering. Fluge also worked with Adamson distributor Seesound to provide an E15 system at the Low Cost Festival in Benidorm, Spain earlier this year, which served as the European debut for Adamson's "Project Energia" beta launch.

PAG ISLAND, Croatia – Promologistika provided a total of 48 units of RCF TTL55-A to support a concert by British DJ Fatboy Slim staged on Zrće, a pebble beach on this island along Croatia's Adriatic seacoast. The system included 16 units per side (LR) plus a delay of two stacks with six units each, plus 16 units of RCF TTS56-A (subwoofers).

WEST SUSSEX, U.K. – Flare Audio, which is providing PA and monitors for the U.K. tour for drum and bass duo Nero, turned to 5 Star Cases for a casing system for Flare's Triwave i10 loudspeakers. The idea was to help the crew deploy the speakers quickly and efficiently when flown as main left and right PA arrays inside a venue.

VIENNA – Concept Solutions provided its L-Acoustics KARA WST modular line source system and other gear for the annual Pink Ribbon Night. The event, a fundraiser for efforts to fight breast cancer, was held at Ebreichsdorf's Magna Racino, which includes a racetrack, casino and multi-purpose hall. Raphael Rupprecht, who is Concept Solutions' technical director/sound, served as system and FOH engineer for the event.

KIEV – The Olympic Stadium opened here Oct. 8 with a speech by Ukraine president Viktor Yanukovych, a performance by Shakira and audio support from Kiev-based Komora, which provided JBL VerTec speakers, Crown amplifiers and Soundcraft Vi4 digital live sound consoles. Komora's Harman gear played a supporting role to the sound reinforcement provided by Fotis Sound and Clair Global, with JBL VT4889 line arrays positioned to cover side seating areas.

ESPOO, Finland – The 800-seat Tapiola Hall at Espoo Cultural Centre gets used for classical orchestras, electric bands, dance performances and opera productions along with corporate events and conferences. As such, the venue required a system that was extremely versatile. Meyer Sound dealer Studiotec provided a M'elodie line array system for the venue.

CAMBRIDGE, New Zealand – The 600-capacity auditorium at St. Peter's School has been equipped with an Allen & Heath iLive digital mixing system that includes an iDR-32 MixRack with iLive-T112 Control Surface. Before the upgrade, the school had been using an analog mixer.
