SYDNEY — Norwest Productions has joined Adamson Systems’ Energia beta test partners group with the purchase of an E15 beta system to service the Australasian market.

JAKARTA — The Midas PRO2 and PRO2C live audio systems were given their first Asian unveiling during the JAPEX Exhibition in Jakarta in November. Midas’ Indonesian distributor, PT Gracia Auvindo, together with Midas’ David Cooper, demonstrated the new consoles on their booth.

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — Judas Priest has embarked on what the band is calling its final world tour, with abundant support from Meyer Sound equipment and supplier Major Tom Limited. Judas Priest’s Epitaph tour has included Europe, South America, Mexico, and 35 stops in Canada and the US (wrapping up December 3 in Biloxi, Miss.). The next stop is Japan in early 2012.

MUMBAI, India — Narain Pro Audio & Lighting Pvt Ltd provided Turbosound speakers for Hometown Café, opened recently by the China Gate restaurant group. The setup on the lower indoor level includes six Impact55T speakers and two TCX-15B subwoofers, powered, respectively, by NX Audio’s MT-601 MK2 and MT 800-MK2 amplifiers.  For the open-air terrace, there is another six Impact55Ts and one more TCX-15B subwoofer.

FRUTIGEN, Switzerland – The FMG “Ekklesia Movement” free church in updated its technical infrastructure with the purchase of a Soundcraft Vi1 digital desk. With a strong emphasis on youth work, the church is no stranger to Soundcraft’s signature sound and design ergonomic.

OSLO — FOH engineer and Midas analog fan Eddie Mapp is using a Midas PRO9 live audio system, supplied by Clair Brothers, for the European leg of the band’s world tour.

SINGAPORE — The Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay complex is relying upon Clear-Com’s FreeSpeak and Tempest2400 wireless systems for four indoor venues and an outdoor theatre. Those venues get used for a variety of events, including theatrical productions, classical music and pop and rock concerts.

MONTPELLIER, France — Working with A+ Architects and Enjoy Group, SLS equipped the newly-constructed Arena Montpellier with an audio system for use with sporting and corporate events, along with a full digital networking and intercom system for the venue.  Adamson’s Metrix system was chosen after a shootout with gear from three other manufacturers. The centrally-flown configuration can change to standard L-R for special events.

LIVERPOOL, UK — Adlib supported the recent John Barrowman tour for with a full technical production package of sound, lighting, AV, staging and crew — the fourth JB tour where Adlib has provided support. The outing included six weeks of sold-out shows around the U.K.

LONDON — RG Jones supported the debut of the Martin Audio MLA system at Royal Albert Hall with Raymond Gubbay Classical Spectacular. FOH engineer Simon Honywill, who worked with Martin Audio’s Nigel Meddemmen to address some of the well-known acoustic challenges posed by the venue, called the MLA system a “massive leap forward.”
