Music Masters Provides PreSonus and WorxAudio for Ned LeDoux Concert

IGNACIO, CO – Music Masters provided PreSonus and WorxAudio audio gear for a fundraising event featuring country music singer/songwriter Ned LeDoux. The event, staged April 7, was held at Sky Ute Resort and raised funds for Hope Community Christian Academy in Ignacio, Colorado. Music Masters’ Brian Willyard flew WorxAudio XL1 line arrays complemented by TL218SS super subs on the floor, with PreSonus StudioLive 328AI and 18sAI subs used as stage monitors.

Outline Upgrades Italian Soccer Stadium

FOGGIA, Italy – Centro Cultura Musicale provided an assist in the form of Outline Vegas 12 CX and Stadia 100-30 long-throw DPRWG loudspeakers for 17,368-capacity Pino Zaccheria soccer stadium in Foggia, Italy. The new system, designed by CCM’s Francesco Ferretti, is used to play recorded music before matches and to make various announcements to the spectators.

BRADLEY, CA – PK Sound supplied gear and crew to support The Do LaB’s Lightning in a Bottle festival over Memorial Day Weekend. The event, which featured Sofi Tukker, Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals and the Glitch Mob, among others, was heard via PK Trinity line arrays and delays for the main stage acts. FOH techs Rory Stewart and Ian Hicks helped look after the needs of the performers and 10 guest FOH technicians.

Console Technology Shines at InfoComm 2018

LAS VEGAS – From June 2-8, InfoComm 2018 drew 43,000 AV pros to the Las Vegas Convention Center – 10 percent more than the last time InfoComm was held in Las Vegas, in 2016. Many were there to eye the latest in video tech and, on the audio side, intercoms, automation panels and transducers. For those mostly interested in live sound production, this year’s technology push seemed to be centered on mixing consoles.

LAS VEGAS – The Parnelli Board of Advisors has announced that Yvan Miron will receive the Parnelli Visionary Award at the 18th annual ceremony in Anaheim, CA on Jan. 25, 2019. After starting to put together mobile stages in the 1980s, he formed Stageline in 1988. Today, Stageline stages are in 45 countries and used for 20,000 events a year, and the company’s rental fleet is 115 stages strong.

Sound Designers Honored with Tony Awards Again at 72nd Ceremony

NEW YORK – The 72nd annual Tony Awards, honoring Broadway musicals and plays staged during the 2017-2018 season, was held June 10 at Radio City Music Hall, hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles and broadcast live on CBS. Top award winners included The Band’s Visit (10), Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (6) and Angels in America (3). The 2018 event restored Sound Design as a Tony Award category for musicals and plays, honoring Kai Harada and Gareth Fry, respectively, for their contributions to The Band’s Visit and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts One and Two.
