SAINT PAUL, MN – The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts has installed a new DiGiCo SD7T Quantum console in its main Ordway Music Theater performance space, continuing the venue’s reliance on DiGiCo SD-Range technology that began when the Center opened in 2009. The new digital desk supported this summer’s production of the musical 42nd Street, which ran from July 23 through August 11.

NEW YORK – This year’s Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage series of concerts in New York’s Central Park got a boost with a new stage and audio system. To optimize the sound for attendees, the sound crew deployed a d&b KSL loudspeaker system. They also took advantage of the capabilities of d&b NoizCalc to and minimize noise complaints from nearby residents. Sound Associates served as the AV integrator for the project.

BOSTON – Mark Knopfler, touring this year in support of his Down the Road Wherever album, released last fall, has been performing with an L-Acoustics L-ISA system provided by SSE Audio Group/SSE Hire. The touring crew has managed to get the 7.1 configuration system loaded in and out as quickly as a standard audio setup.

LAS VEGAS – L-Acoustics notes that its L-ISA technology is being used for Lady Gaga’s Enigma and Jazz & Piano residency shows at the Park Theater at Park MGM in Las Vegas. The system, which is showcasing a versatility and range that matches that of the performer, is made up of K Series long throw enclosures.

SAN FRANCISCO – Since the first Outside Lands music and arts festival was staged in mid-2008, UltraSound has provided a Meyer Sound system for the event’s main Lands End stage. For year’s event, held Aug. 9-11, Paul Simon, Childish Gambino and Twenty One Pilots, among others, were heard via Meyer Leo, Lyon and Leopard components.

NEW ORLEANS – The 50th annual New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival got an audio assist from AV production company Propaganda Group, one of the regular rental sound system providers. Propaganda Group, based in Jefferson, LA, provided Bose Professional’s ShowMatch system or the the Jazz and Heritage Stage and other locations.

MONTGOMERY, AL – The Montgomery Performing Arts Centre (MPAC) now has an audio mixing workflow worthy of the theater’s sonic characteristics, with the recent additions of Yamaha Rivage PM7 and CL5 digital consoles. The consoles run on a redundant Audinate Dante network using Yamaha 16-port network switches to manage primary and secondary lines into the consoles for fail-safe operation.
