“Kinky Boots” Production at Teatro Astral in Buenos Aires Mixed on dLive

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – The Teatro Astral in Buenos Aires, Argentina, relies upon an Allen & Heath dLive digital mixing system for the launch of the Broadway musical Kinky Boots, which had its opening night in January. The setup includes a dLive C3500 surface, which uses around 80 input channels and more than 100 scene changes during the show, paired with a CDM48 MixRack, which is fitted with a Dante card for multitrack recording and playback.

“Callas in Concert” Makes Use of DPA Instrument Microphones

SANFORD, NC – For Callas in Concert, the late opera singer Maria Callas was brought back to the stage via hologram, more than 40 years after her passing. FOH and Recording Engineer Howard “Howie” Lindeman relied on 27 of DPA Microphones’ low-profile 4099 instrument microphones for the live orchestral performers. Rat Sound Fires Up The Chainsmokers Tour with L-Acoustics

NEW YORK – In support of their Dec. 2019 album, World War Joy, The Chainsmokers’ EDM duo, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, recently wrapped up a 41-city North American arena tour with a full L-Acoustics P.A. system. The typical setup was 14 K1 plus six K2 downs per side as the mains, with eight K1 over eight K2 for the side arrays. Hangs of eight KS28 subs were flown behind each main array, with LF further anchored by a total of 16 additional KS28 units.

VUE’s al-Class & h-Class Powers the Imperial Ball 2020 featuring Johnny Depp

ANAHEIM, CA – The Imperial Ball 2020 Charity Concert, held during NAMM 2020 and staged at the Anaheim Center for the Performing Arts at Servite, featured performances from Bones UK, Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal, Watt Zeppelin featuring Andrew Watt, Chad Smith (RHCP) and Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction), plus Queens of the Stone Age with special guest Johnny Depp. VUE al-8s were ground stacked for FOH and as front fills along with h-Class for stage monitors, side-fills and drum monitoring.
