KNOXVILLE, TN – FRONT of HOUSE and PLSN are once again joining Bandit Lites chair Michael T. Strickland in calling on everyone in our live event industry to reach out to their representatives in Congress for an expansion in PPP funding. Strickland notes that the PPP application extension to Aug. 8 and the PPP Flexibility Act that became law July 4 and July 5 are welcome enhancements, but they do NOT add funding. “That will [hopefully] come in the next session, before July 30,” he noted. To help that come to pass, it’s time to reach out to Congress.

LAS VEGAS – FRONT of HOUSE  and PLSN magazines are following up on April’s Covid-19 Entertainment Technology Economic Impact survey with a followup survey in early July. We would like to know where you stand now in comparison with then. These results will be shared with local and Congressional legislators so they can better assess the impact the pandemic is having on the entertainment technology industry.

FAIRFAX, VA – AVIXA’s first virtual version of their InfoComm expo, InfoComm 2020 Connected, featured live presentations and keynote addresses from June 16-18. The virtual Exhibitor Showcases, with 167 sound-related companies among the 495 exhibitors, also kicked off on June 16. The online booths showcased real product innovation. CHARLOTTE, NC – With the largest Catholic congregation in the U.S., St. Matthew Catholic Church of Charlotte, NC has been dubbed a “megaparish.” The church sought to upgrade the sound system for a 2,200-seat, fan-shaped worship space. Winston-Salem-based Special Event Services provided an L-Acoustics Kiva II sound system.
