The HD1521 2-way and HD1531 3-way deliver up to 1800W of peak system power. precision crossovers, transducer time alignment and phase correction circuitry right in the box, in addition to patented acoustic correction processing that the manufacturer says counters the inherent physical attributes that can make typical loudspeakers sound honky or washed out.

With four full range models and a stage wedge all available in both active and passive versions with Celestion drivers, the new NET Series, presented in preview at Musikmesse, will be available for purchase in late 2009.  The Celestion loudspeakers are driven by new class H and class D amplifying modules.

The Si2 comes in a smaller footprint than its bigger brother, and has 48 mic inputs mapped on 24 faders (the Si3 has 64 inputs), but this is where the differences end. The Si2, like the Si3, has four dedicated Stereo Line channels, four dedicated FX Returns from the four stereo Lexicon FX processors, eight balanced insert sends and eight balanced insert returns. Si2 is complete with 24 Group/Aux busses available at all times, eight matrix busses and a full complement of monitor talkback and main bus outputs.

Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. has announced a major software upgrade to its successful M7CL-32 and 48-channel digital mixing consoles. The Yamaha M7CLv2 software incorporates features requested by thousands of Yamaha console users worldwide including Global Paste, enabling simultaneous editing of multiple scenes, and Matrix Sends on Fader, providing access to 24 mix busses.

The M7CLv2 software update will be available by download free of charge during the summer for all existing M7CL users, and new console purchasers will receive the software pre-installed at no additional charge, the company said.

AKG’s redesigned C 3000 updates the existing C 3000, first introduced in 1993, with a new finish showcasing AKG’s new corporate design. It is well suited to live sound applications as well as recording, and it is being offered at a competitive price. The C 3000 features a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response, low noise electronics, high SPL capability and an internal shock mount. The switchable 10dB preattenuation increase in SPL capability by 10 dB and accommodates loud instruments and amplifiers with ease. The switchable first-order 500Hz low frequency filter eliminates the proximity effect for close-miking. The standard accessories are a metal carrying case and a spider-type shock mount.

Turbosound’s TCS series is a range of 19 individual products for sound systems in a variety of venues, ranging from small clubs and bars to stadiums. The line incorporates acoustics technologies that are intended to help audio installers tailor the sound to each environment.
 

Klark Teknik’s DN530 Creative Quad Gate features Transient Accenting, which is designed to let users enhance the attack envelope beyond merely opening the gate. This can provide up to 12dB of additional transient energy, and its primary application is to provide additional impact on drums and percussion instruments. It can also be used to enhance the impact of acoustic stringed instruments such as guitar and piano. Transient Accenting also gives users control over the amount of enhancement applied to each channel of processing. The DN530 can also add a creative flare to drum channels with its accent feature, which can also reduce the need for excessive EQ or compression.

Wireworks SPEN and SPE5 loudspeaker cables are designed specifically for use with Meyer Sound’s MM-4 and MM-4XP speakers respectively. SPEN cords can also be employed anytime small, secure speaker cords are required.

Ebtech, makers of audio solution devices for installers, contractors and musicians, have added two new products to their line of Audio Solutions: HE-8-XLR, pictured here, an eight channel Hum Eliminator™ in a single space rack format, and LLS-8-XLR, an eight channel Line Level Shifter® in a single space rack format. Both new units have a new reversible rack ear design. One of PI’s most recognizable products in the market has always been the Blazon.  From its creation in 1986, it has undergone many changes.  The extrusion and lamp have been reduced to less than 25 percent of the original size, and it has gone from a plastic extrusion to a more rugged aluminum construction.

With the 700 mHz band largely off limits and 2.4 mHz more and more congested by Wi-Fi, at least a couple of manufacturers are looking to the all-but-forgotten 900 mHz range for some relief. The new DTV-free SWM6000 Smart Spectrum wireless microphone system from Sabine is one of those.
