Powersoft is now shipping its new 2- and 4-channel M Series DSP+ETH amplifiers. The M Series DSP+ETH promise to reduce the size and weight of gear used for both production and installation applications, providing two bi-amplified monitor mixes of power amplification with processing in just one rack unit, or eight bi-amplified mixes in just four rack units.
The M Series DSP+ETH models are available in three 2-channel (M30D DSP+ETH, M20D DSP+ETH, M14D DSP+ETH) and two 4-channel (M50Q DSP+ETH, M28Q DSP+ETH) versions. Both the 2 and 4-channel units provide two or four inputs and outputs respectively. In addition, each channel offers five bi-quad filters for system equalization, two crossovers, eight bi-quad filters, and RMS and peak limiters eliminating the need for outboard equalizers.
Each M Series DSP+ETH amplifier is housed in a one rack unit, rugged metal case weighing in at 16.3 Lbs (7.4 Kg). The four-channel models provide up to 1250W/ch. on 4 ohm loads, while the two-channel models offer a maximum output of 1500W/ch. on 4 ohm loads. Powersoft patented bridgeable Class D outputs promise to enhance sound quality and damping factor while working together with the switch mode power supply to optimize efficiency.
The potential benefits include reduced operational costs from lower power consumption of both amplifier and external cooling, along with easier on-site AC mains distribution. All M Series DSP+ETH models are able to drive 70V constant voltage lines directly without the need of transformers for installations.
The M Series DSP+ETH units can store up to four presets and recall them via a pushbutton on the rear panel. Presets can be created, stored, and completely monitored utilizing the Armonía Pro Audio Suite software with computer and amplifiers communicating over standard Ethernet.
The internal DSP engine delivers up to 114 dB(A) signal to noise ratio (analog in/out) with a 1 ms processing delay time. It also provides a complete set of limiters: Peak with variable ratio, RMS, and frequency shaping RMS.
