Dynacord VariLine VL 62
The new Dynacord VariLine range is designed for permanent install and mobile applications. The VL 62 full range cabinet (150W RMS & 122 dB max SPL) features a neodymium 6.5-inch woofer and a 1-inch compression driver mounted to a CAD-optimized 90 x 40 rotateable horn for high SPL applications where minimal footprint is a main concern. VL 62’s 16-Ohm operation is designed to allow up to eight cabinets to be connected in parallel to any Dynacord amplifier, allowing large-distributed systems for high-end retail and entertainment environments to be realized efficiently. Coupled with Dynacord PowerH remote control DSP amplifiers, FIR presets optimize performance, resulting in linear-phase and equal magnitude response over the operating bandwidth of 90 Hz-20 kHz.

Shure UR1M Micro-Bodypack
Offering wireless audio in an ultra-compact package that is about half the size of most standard bodypacks and weighing just three ounces with two AAA batteries, the Shure UR1M Micro-Bodypack is designed to be easily concealed and worn comfortably by actors, performers, musicians and public speakers. Operating with the Shure UHF-R wireless microphone system using the latest version of Shure Wireless Workbench software, the subminiature device uses the patented Shure Audio Reference Companding technology designed to deliver crystal-clear audio and a 60-75 MHz tuning range (region dependent) — twice that of any other bodypack on the market. Tunable in 25 kHz increments and providing a sum total of up to 3,000 selectable frequencies, the UR1M additionally offers selectable 10mW or 50mW RF power, up to nine hours of battery life, audio level metering and a backlit LCD display.

Soundcraft Vi Series Version 2.0
Soundcraft has released an update to the operating software for the Soundcraft Vi6 and Vi4 Digital Live Sound Consoles, adding powerful new facilities and further security in the event of power failure. V2.0 of the desk software brings Copy/Paste facilities and a new Library function. The Copy/Paste function allows the settings of any channel, bus, FX section or processing element to be copied and pasted to any number of other channels, saving setup time and helping eliminate errors. The last paste operation can be quickly reversed with an UNDO function. Blocks or individual parameters within a channel are selected for copying via touch screen selection on the same Vistonics II screens that are used for audio control functions. The new Library functionality allows a user to select any set of parameters in use on the desk, for example a single channel EQ setting or a group of channels set up for a drum kit, to be stored in the internal library and recalled at will.

NEXO RS15 Omni/Cardioid Subwoofer
Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems Inc. has announced the availability of the NEXO RS15 low-profile high-output, modular, scalable bass cabinet. The first in the RS (Ray Sub) Series, the RS15 is capable of operating in both omni-directional and cardioid modes. Comprised of a 15-inch transducer with a frequency response of 35 Hz–200 Hz in omni or 35 Hz–150 Hz in directional mode and a sensitivity of 105 dB SPL, the versatile RS15 is designed for system installations and touring requirements. The patent-pending NEXO RS15 is designed to offer directive subwoofer coverage from a standard bass reflex architecture. Simply turning the cabinet vertically or horizontally will change its characteristics from omni to cardioid. Digital signal processing via NX242-ES4 TDcontrollers enables the RS15 to display precise cardioid pattern control through the DSP-processed correlation of acoustic distances between transducer and vent sources.
