The HICON HD-BaseT extender set from Sommer Cable is designed for long-range HDMI. It can be used to transmit high-resolution, high-speed HDMI with Ethernet, 10/100 BaseT Ethernet and infrared remote controller signals over distances of up to 100 meters, and it complies with 1080p, 3D, 4K, ARC, HDCP, 7.1CH, Home Cinema TrueHD and DTS-HD standards.
More details from Sommer Cable (www.sommercable.com):
The infrared function transmits the remote controller signals from the receiver (display, beamer) to the transmitter, which allows the devices located there (such as BluRay players, AV receivers, set-top boxes, etc.) to be telecommanded. For this purpose the supplied non-wireless IR transmitter is connected to the HD-BaseT transmitter and angled towards those devices. The receiver has an integrated IR receiver.
The receiver features a built-in 2-port Ethernet switch, which can be used to connect up to two terminal devices (such as beamers and displays) and integrate them into the network. Users simply connect the transmitter to the network environment via a patch cable.
The set contains one transmitter, one receiver, two power supplies and one non-wireless infrared transmitter.
For the HD-BaseT set, Sommer Cable can provide an optional matching ready-made installation cable kit. It contains a single-sided finished Cat.7 installation line (1,000 MHz) with an open end. The line can be cut to the required length. Also included is the no-tools mountable RJ45 metal plug connector for the open end. For mobile applications with the HD-BaseT set, Sommer Cable recommends the flexible and robust SC MERCATOR CAT.7 PUR XL. This AWG 23/7 line is well-suited for use while out on the road.
