EAW SB2001 and NTS250 Subwoofers

EAW recently announced two new subs-one passive and one powered. The SB2001 Subwoofer, pictured here, which goes beyond the company's SB1001 with a dual 21-inch cone driver, provides more than double the volume of air displaced without a significant increase in size.
Measuring 33.5 inches wide, 22.63 inches high and 45.0 inches deep, the SB2001 weighs in at 200 lbs. It has design features touted for their ability to provide punch from a small package. The SB2001's drivers are mounted in a way that maximizes the cone area, integrates a low turbulence port, and reduces frontal area, and also features a V-shaped baffle loading of the transducers. The SB2001 is designed to deliver a greater compression of energy through a smaller aperture to give the subwoofers more impact.

The NTS250 Powered Subwoofer, which can serve as a companion subwoofer for any EAW system, is ideally suited in conjunction with the NTL720 compact line array, for use with sound reinforcement or fixed installation for corporate A/V, clubs, ballrooms, theaters, performing arts centers and houses of worship.

Also high in output, compact in size and light in weight, the NTS250 offers a push-pull pair of neodymium 15-inch woofers; 2000 Watts of amplification; DSP and EAW Pilot software-accessible front-end DSP; U-Net audio and communications network; a professional rigging system; and push button two-box cardioid and hyper-cardioid configurability, all within a RoadCoat-clad package.

The NTS250 is also the first EAW subwoofer on the U-Net network, easing system configuration with other U-Net enabled products.
