D.A.S. Audio notes that its new RF-118, pictured here, and RF-218 subwoofers, pictured below, extend the existing RF (reference) series product group and are designed for use in both permanent installations and mobile systems.

The new RF-118 and RF-218 subwoofers are both passive systems housed in Birch Plywood enclosures with black Iso-Flex painted exteriors. The RF-118 subwoofer incorporates a single 18-inch LF transducer in a rear loaded horn bass configuration. The system has a 4000 W Peak / 1000 W RMS power rating with a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms. The RF-118 has a frequency range of 45 Hz – 160 Hz. On-axis sensitivity is rated at 99 dB SPL (1W / 1m) while maximum peak SPL measures 135 dB (at 1 m). The RF-118 provides two NL4 Speakon connectors. The enclosure’s measurements are 33 x 23.6 x 25.8 inches (84 x 60 x 65.5 cm) and its weight is 126.5 lbs. (57.5 kg).
The new RF-218 subwoofer incorporates two 18-inch LF transducers in a bass reflex configuration. The system has an 8000 W Peak / 2000 W RMS power rating with a nominal impedance of 4 Ohms. On-axis sensitivity is rated at 101 dB SPL (1W / 1m) while maximum peak SPL measures 140 dB (at 1 m). The RF-218 provides two NL4 Speakon connectors. The enclosure’s measurements are 42 x 21.3 x 26.4 inches (106.7 x 54 x 67 cm) and its weight is 141.9 lbs. (64.5 kg).
