Christie Digital Debuts Vive Audio Line Arrays

At the 2014 I.S.E. show, Christie Digital unveiled Vive Audio, a full line of installation speakers for auditorium/theater applications. The Christie Vive Audio line array speakers combine advanced ribbon driver technology with a unique coaxial articulated line array design to provide greatly enhanced clarity, dramatically reduced distortion and ultra-fast transient response. All the standard line array models feature multiple 3.5-inch ribbon neodymium HF drivers and Kevlar cone midranges, arranged in a coaxial array with 120×30-degree (HxV) dispersion.

Also in the Vive Audio offering are two unique parabolic line arrays (LA3C, LA5C) that share the same coaxial ribbon/cone components, but in an ultrawide 120×120-degree dispersion design. All models are curved arrays with multiple M10 fly points.

The extremely low mass of the ribbon drivers allows the Christie line array speakers to respond very quickly to input signals. This eliminates the effects of high frequency breakup and power compression, while enabling extended high frequency response and the accurate reproduction of the original source material. Christie’s LA1, LA3, LA4 and LA5 series line arrays are available to fit the needs of any theater and/or auditorium size.

A full complement of single-15 and double-15/18 subwoofers are also offered, as is the new CDA line of rackmount Class-D power amplifiers.
