Bartlett Microphones' TM-125HP is the high performance version of the company's TM-125 boundary mic. While the TM-125 is for sound reinforcement of actors in drama or musicals, the TM-125HP is for recording or broadcasting opera, drama, musicals, solo recitals, sound effects, and small classical music ensembles.
It's for any application where the mic must be inconspicuous but the sound quality must be high. The TM-125HP has 14 dBA self-noise – 8 dB less than the TM-125 – and a flatter frequency response intended for recording. The TM-125 is more suited for sound reinforcement because it has more rear attenuation and a response tailored for intelligibility.
Miniature capsule technology prevents phase cancellations due to sound reflections off the stage floor, so speech and music tend to sound natural without the coloration caused by comb filtering.
With its low-profile steel housing, the TM-125HP is designed to withstand heavy footsteps. All electronics are inside the housing. A supplied XLR mic cable plugs into a connector in the side of the mic.
