Avante Audio launched two new additions to its Imperio Pro line array series at the 2024 NAMM trade show in Anaheim, CA, the Imperio Pro IMP328 and the Imperio Pro IMP218 active dual 18-inch subwoofer.

More details from Avante Audio (www.avanteaudio.com):

Imperio Pro IMP 328

The Imperio Pro IMP328 is a 3-way active line array module engineered for medium to large scale venues, which is designed to pair with the new Imperio Pro IMP218 active dual 18-inch subwoofer. Both products were showcased at the ADJ Arena Plaza Stage at NAMM 2024, where they served as the main P.A. for this outdoor festival-style concert stage. Throughout the show, an eclectic lineup of musicians performed on the stage, demonstrating the full sonic capabilities of the Imperio Pro IMP328 and IMP218.

Intended for easy transportation and very fast setup, the Imperio Pro IMP205 is a lightweight, high output active line array element that can be utilized in a variety of different configurations – both ground-stacked and flown – to cover a wide range of applications and audience sizes. Combining high quality neodymium components with Class-D digital amplifier modules and advanced 32-bit internal signal processing, it delivers unrivalled audio fidelity and deployment flexibility for a speaker of its size. Measuring just 12.8″ x 7.3″ x 8.8″ (324mm x 184.8mm x 224mm), this compact array module packs in a pair of 5” neodymium low-mid transducers alongside six 1.75” IDVAT (Inverted Dome Vertical Array Technology) high frequency drivers. This configuration allows the unit to deliver a broad frequency response of 100Hz – 20KHz with a wide horizontal dispersion angle of 100⁰. The unit’s internal Class D 2-way amplifier has a PFC switching power supply and is rated at 440W RMS (1700W peak), which allows it to deliver an impressive maximum output of 128dB (single box measured on Axis @ 1m).

Imperio Pro IMP218

With a precision CNC machined Baltic birch plywood enclosure, the Imperio Pro IMP328 is made to withstand the rigors of touring in very demanding environments. It also looks good, finished in a durable black polyurea coating and featuring a black powder-coated steel grill. A robust and easy to deploy multi-angle rigging system makes it easy to accomplish a variety of vertical coverage angles and throws, while the unit’s hardware and integrated handles also make it convenient to ground stack and transport. A protective rain cover for the amplifier connections and IP-rated locking power connectors also come standard. All these features combine to allow the Imperio Pro IMP328 to provide unparalleled full-range sound reinforcement from a compact package.

The Imperio Pro IMP218 is an active subwoofer which features dual 18-inch drivers paired with powerful 4-inch voice coils and a high-out port design. It incorporates an active Class-D amplifier capable of delivering 4800-Watts of peak power, which ensures great headroom and very low distortion. The unit delivers an exceptional frequency response of 32 Hz – 130 Hz (-10dB) / 38 Hz-130 Hz (-3dB) that ensures deep, powerful, tight bass that you can feel! It is equipped with a comprehensive DSP that includes selectable crossover frequency, variable delay, and Cardioid / End-Fire presets. As with the array module, all DSP features can be configured directly from the back panel of the unit or remotely from a networked Windows PC.

A robust CNC machined Baltic birch plywood enclosure, finished in a durable black polyurea coating with black powder-coated steel grill, matches the array module. 20 captive-nut fly points (M10) make it easy to integrate the subwoofer in a variety of installations, while the recessed handles and nylon skids make it easy to manage, transport and stack. Integrated stacking and arraying hardware can instantly secure multiple cabinets together without the use of straps and a protective rain cover for the amplifier paired with locking IP65-rated power connections allow for safe outdoor deployment. With its impressive maximum SPL of 142 dB, the Imperio Pro IMP218 subwoofer is the perfect choice for both permanent installations and live production events where high output low frequency impact is required.

A wide variety of musical talent will be showcased on the ADJ Arena Plaza Stage throughout each day of the NAMM show, providing visitors plenty of opportunities to hear the Imperio Pro IMP328 + IMP218 system in action. Highlights of the program include Supreme Legacy, with their tribute to Motown legends The Supremes, indie pop songstress Cheyenne Benton, blues guitarist Collin Littlejohn, jazz saxophonist Rodney Taylor, percussionist Monette Marino Keita, yacht rock covers band Yachty By Nature, and perennial favorites the Jon Hammond Funk Unit.

As the show floor is emptying after NAMM’s first day on Thursday January 25, the Arena Plaza Stage will also be the venue for AVANTE Audio’s sister company ADJ’s Happy Hour event. This two-hour mixer will feature live music from high-octane cover band Grooveline SD. The event will also feature a cocktail bar, providing the perfect post-show chance to relax, unwind and socialize. ADJ and AVANTE Audio dealers and users – as well as any audio professionals interested in the Imperio Pro system – are invited to join the ADJ and AVANTE Audio teams for this informal networking opportunity.

“Based on the success of AVANTE Audio’s Imperio Pro IMP205 ‘mini’ line array module last year, we are excited to debut the new larger format Imperio Pro IMP328 at NAMM 2024,” enthuses AVANTE Audio’s Product Engineer, Tony Mirador. “The result of extensive R&D work, this new product offers incredible power, fidelity, and versatility from a compact and lightweight array module. Meanwhile, the new Imperio Pro IMP218 subwoofer has been carefully engineered as the perfect companion to the array module. Delivering thunderous output with phenomenal clarity, it shares the same sleek aesthetic and functional versatility. Together, the two models are a force to be reckoned with and I’m confident that they will turn more than a few heads at the show!”

The ADJ Arena Plaza stage was located between the Anaheim Convention Center Arena and the ACC North hall, right by the pedestrian entrance to the site from W Katella Ave. AVANTE Audio had a pop-up information booth near the stage with team members always on hand to answer questions. AVANTE Audio’s Achromic Series of full range active speakers were also showcased on the exhibition floor at booth #10920, alongside products from sister companies ADJ Lighting and Eliminator Lighting.
