Designed and manufactured in the U.K., this dynamic, cardioid handheld vocal performance microphone adds a twist — two different voices (taken from Aston’s TEC award-winning Aston Stealth model) accessed via two discrete signal paths selectable via a recessed microswitch. As an additional “hidden” bonus, in passive mode, Apex operates as expected, but applying phantom power automatically engages an onboard discrete Class-A preamp with +20 dB of boost. Three finishes are offered: Void (black), Glass (chrome) and Storm (gunmetal gray). Street prices are $149-$169, depending on finish selected.
