Thousands attended the outdoor church celebration staged for Easter by North Phoenix Baptist Church, seated in parked cars, lawn chairs and on blankets.

On February 16th with Covid restrictions still looming (and then lifted Friday before Easter) NPHX Pastor Garcia told his new Production Director (Donald T. Woodard) “We want to do Easter (April 4) outside.” Having just joined the NPHX staff after 30+ years on the road, Woodard immediately texted Kendle Smith @ FOH Productions — “Need to talk.” Challenge was to build a show that would cover a lawn & blankets seating area, 2500+ chairs in the parking lot beyond that area, and FM coverage for those who would stay in their cars and listen from the backside of the parking area in front of the Church. (an area roughly 4 football fields) Full band/music set, ½ hour sermon, 2 dozen water baptisms. “Being able to draw on trusted Pros like our friends at FOH and SLFX gave me a great deal of comfort knowing that I had great people helping me design and execute.” “Everyone from stagehands who were thrilled to be back building a show, to fantastic vendors, to our amazing volunteers, stepped up and we put together a great day for a huge audience here at the church and beyond.” The project garnered Television News coverage from several Phoenix TV stations including FOX and ABC.
