Tour Details

FRONT of HOUSE caught industrial metal band Ministry on opening night of The Uneasy Tour in San Francisco. Producer, singer and instrumentalist Al Jourgensen and his band command the stage with a sonic explosion of music, keeping all those head-bangers in the audience rocking along all night long.  Making the evening even more enlivening were the two fantastic tour supporters — Gary Numan and Front Line Assembly. Ministry’s longtime FOH Engineer is Wedge Branon who does a great job of bringing the power and punch of the music to the crowd each night. “With so many different sounds going on all at the same time — vocals, a wall of guitars, bass and drums, then keys, samples and a ton of effects going on — I certainly have to have everything right in the front of the mix the entire time,” Branon says. “Sometimes it can be difficult to find a hole for everything, but I work with all the band members to get the right sound we are all looking for.”

Branon adds, “If you have never been to a Ministry show, come on out sometime!  The show is beyond loud, but not in a bad way.”  He has been using the Avid S6L’s mixing console for a while now. “I was using their Profiles for years, so when I switched, I liked staying with Avid.  I’m not a big plugins guy at all. I’m just using all internal effects from the S6L. I use four delays and four reverbs.  I also use four Eventide H3000’s on Al’s vocal as Al has used them on every Ministry album so they are his signature vocal effect. His two vocal microphones are sE V7’s capsules on standard Shure wireless mics.”
