Fans of Konpa, a genre of dance music arising from Haiti, rang in the New Year at Barclays Center in Brooklyn with a lineup of artists that included Zafem, Kai, Vayb, Nu-Look, Joé Dwèt Filé, Rutshelle Guillaume, Baky, Oswald, DJ Stakz and more. Along the the melodies and beat of Konpa music, the event marked 220 years of Haitian resilience, unity, independence, and culture.
