Austrian Audio OD5/OC7 Instrument Mics
The active dynamic OD5 ($299) and true condenser OC7 ($519) mics are designed for instrument miking. Both are cardioid, with 2-stage bass roll-off filters, -10 dB pads and a mount that swivels 220° for ease in placement. An active-dynamic circuit in the OD5 ensures long cable runs have no negative effect on the signal and is suited for drums, guitar amps and wind instruments. The small-diaphragm OC7 is ideal on instruments with lively transients, including percussion, piano, acoustic guitar and strings.
Lavoce DN14.30TK 1.4” Exit Compression Driver
Lavoce Italiana’s next-gen 1.4” exit neodymium compression driver exhibits a smooth response to 20k Hz, low distortion and 110W AES power rating. Besides its 3” edgewound copper-clad aluminum voice coil with 108 dB sensitivity, it employs the same phase plug as its DN14.300T bigger brother, but in a more compact 120mm footprint, with a hybrid titanium diaphragm with polyimide surround, for a lower resonant frequency, which enhances LF performance around the recommended 1.2 kHz crossover point.
Mackie Expands Thump Series
Mackie’s refresh and expansion of its Thump full range speaker series, updates the standard Thump and the all-new ThumpXT speakers. The 1,400W Class-D amplifiers allow vocals and instruments to cut through outdoor venues or indoor crowds with up to 128 dB and 47 Hz – 20k Hz clarity. Both Thump and ThumpXT offer built-in Feedback Eliminator and a Music Ducking Mode. ThumpXT adds venue-specific voicing modes and supplementary controls via the Thump Connect 2 App. New Thump115S and Thump118S powered subs fill out the line.
Oeksound Soothe2 Plug-in
A dynamic resonance suppressor, Soothe2 identifies problematic resonances on the fly and applies matching reduction automatically. This results in a smoother, more balanced sound and saves users from having to notch out frequencies by hand. The reduction only kicks in when and where needed, without affecting nearby frequency areas, which preserves the timbre of the original sound source for a transparent treatment with minimal artifacts. Soothe2 licenses support 64-bit VST, VST3 and AAX on Windows (7-11), Intel macOS X (10.13 – 12) and M1 Macs. Street is $219.
Peavey PVXp Bluetooth Speakers
Available this month in 12” ($599 street) and 15” ($699) versions, the new PVXp Bluetooth speakers feature 980 peak watts of bi-amped power with DSP-based compression and limiting. All have an RX14 compression driver on a 100 x 50 degree (HxV) asymmetrical horn. Two mic/line switchable inputs on XLR/TRS jacks are standard, with a third input for Bluetooth or 1/8” aux signals. Each channel has a 3-band EQ section. The tough injection-molded trapezoidal enclosure has fly points and a pole-mount socket.
RF Venue Remote Antenna Kit
Rear-mounted wireless mic antennas or gear housed in equipment closets can impede RF line-of-sight performance. Roland SR-20HD Direct Streaming AV Mixer
Slated to ship this month, the SR-20HD audio/video switcher ($2,095/street) enables livestreaming with minimal training. Ideal for churches, theaters and clubs, it combines a video switcher, audio mixer, preview screen, recorder/player and streaming encoder and can stream directly to YouTube Live, Facebook, Twitch or by RTMP to a CDN without the need for a computer. It features an 8-input mixer, four XLR mic ins with phantom, four line inputs, three video inputs (two HDMI, one USB video) and main and preview HDMI outputs.
Whirlwind Cat-5e Snake Cable
Available in a variety of lengths (50’, 100’, 200’, 300’, etc.), Whirlwind’s model MD-0-4-C5E-(length) Cat-5e Snake Cables feature the company’s legendary bulletproof construction, utilizing a Medusa Mini-6 style stage box wired with Cat-5e snake cable to four color-coded Neutrik Ethercon connectors and Snakeskin on the fanout. Wisycom Wireless App
Offered for both iOS and Android, the Wisycom App for its Symphony Series wireless mic system, is similar to Wisycom’s Manager PC software, allowing users to monitor, control and manage Wisycom devices through a Bluetooth 5 long-range connection. Users can remotely change device frequencies, monitor and adjust audio levels, and select channel/group assignments. Advanced features can select the transmitter and receiver bandwidth, adjust the transmitter’s RF output power and toggle recording status.

Zenso has partnered with Audinate to deliver the first third-party software product designed exclusively for Dante users — the DMeter app for Dante audio, which offers real-time audio metering for any Dante network. DMeter from Zenso runs on macOS and Windows computers, providing instant views of up to 32 channels from anywhere on your system. DMeter is free to use with two Dante channels, or expanded to a full 32-channel complement via a $59 purchase from Audinate.
