JBL Adds True Wireless Streaming for EON 700 Speakers
Launched earlier this year, the JBL Pro EON700 Series has become a popular portable P.A. solution for live sound rentals, houses of worship and corporate A/V providers. Now, a new free firmware upgrade adds TWS (True Wireless Streaming) to JBL’s 1,300-watt powered full-range (10-inch EON710, 12-inch EON712 and 15-inch EON715) speakers. TWS gives EON700 users the ability to create a true stereo image configuration by streaming Bluetooth source audio to left/right-designated EON700 speakers.
KV2 Audio ESD8
Expanding KV2’s ES range, between the existing ESD6 and ESD10, the new ESD8 is a compact, high-output, passive 2-way, full-range system incorporating an 8” trans-coil woofer and a 1” compression driver coupled to a wide dispersion horn in a rugged, Baltic birch enclosure. Ideal as a main system speaker or as an in-fill for larger systems, the flexible ESD8 can be applied quickly and efficiently on podiums, stands or suspended. Applications range from corporate presentations and functions to infill, close monitoring or installations, with four optional subwoofers available.
L-Acoustics L-ISA Studio Now Available for PC
L-ISA Studio 2.5, for on-the-go immersive sound creator, is compatible with any PC and Windows OS, and Mac/macOS computers. The Windows version includes the L-ISA Controller and L-ISA Processor Desktop applications, as well as L-ISA Audio Bridge (a custom virtual Windows sound card with Bridge Out 12-output routing to any DAW for multi-channel recording. Also, Device Out can send audio to headphones or a multichannel sound card for rendering immersive speaker configurations in Atmos, BluSpace and more, with advance previewing in diverse spaces.
LD Systems DAVE G4X Series
Ten years after DAVE G3, the new DAVE G4X powered 2.1 P.A. adds modern functions and features. Systems include the 680w DAVE 10 G4X (two dual-4” satellites and 10” sub); 1,460w DAVE 12 G4X (two 6.5” satellites and 12” sub); 2,060w DAVE 15 G4X (dual-8” satellites and 15” sub); and 4,000w DAVE 18 G4X two 8” satellites and 18” sub). Part of Lectrosonics’ M2 Duet Digital wireless UHF (470 to 614 MHz) IEM family, the new all-metal M2Ra receiver builds upon the success of the original, with key improvements and new features designed for pro touring, installation, theater and broadcast applications. The M2 System provides ruler-flat frequency response; compander-free operation; wide, no-compression dynamic range with no compression; and maximum channel separation for rock-solid stereo imaging. The transmitter supports both analog and Dante digital signal sources.
Rational Acoustics’ Smaart Control of Evo
The Smaart 9.1 update integrates remote phantom power and gain control for Audient’s popular EVO 4, 8, and 16 digital interfaces, with gain tracking ability for automatic decibel offset recalculation for calibrated inputs. In gain tracking mode, users can adjust the EVO preamps’ input gain without losing SPL calibration. Smaart will automatically adjust the calibration to reflect the new dB offset and all of EVO’s I/O settings can be digitally adjusted and recalled. The update will be available in all editions of Smaart — Suite, RT, LE and SPL.
TEQSAS LAP-TEQ Line Array Clinometer
Distributed by measurement mic specialists iSEMcon, the TEQSAS LAP-TEQ Clinometer can measure the inclination of a line array or a speaker cluster — quickly and with high accuracy. Intended for mounting on flying frames or bumpers, the LAP-TEQ PLUS sensor module (measuring unit) works with the handheld LAP-TEQ PORT display module (reading unit), and the sensor’s green laser also makes it possible to visually identify where, any line array element hits in terms of acoustics.

Waves Audio’s BB Tubes plug-in lets users create huge-sounding tube saturation designed to make any vocal or instrument jump out of the speakers by simply adjusting its “Beauty” and “Beast” controls, for the ability to attain delicate to aggressive analog brilliance on drums, vocals, guitars, bass, synths, mix bus and basically any other element of a mix. BB Tubes also provides an A/B switch to select between two different tube types. It’s offered separately and included in Waves’ Mercury, Pro Show and SD7 Pro Show bundles.
