The Free Press

The first amendment to the U.S. Constitution establishes certain essential freedoms, including religion, free speech, peaceful assemblies, petitioning the government and of course, freedom of the press. All well and good, but that’s not what we’re going to discuss here.

As a print- and online-based media outlet, FRONT of HOUSE is constantly looking for news and information to serve the interests of our readers. This comes from a variety of sources — press feeds, industry organizations, manufacturers, sound companies, integrators, outside contributors and readers themselves. We have plenty of spaces for interesting and useful content, whether in our industry news sections, product spotlights, focuses on every type of audio installations — venues, clubs, houses of worship, theaters, performing arts centers, sports facilities and more.

Each issue, our “Showtime” section looks at interesting sound events — tours, festivals, concerts, street fairs, rodeos and one-offs — and the majority of these come from readers who were involved in the production. All we need is a photo or two, along with a few details about the event, a gear list and the names and roles of the audio crew that made it happen. If you want to help get the word out about your production, it’s easy and FREE; we even provide an online form for your convenience, at www.fohonline.com/foh-submissions/showtime .

Back to the “free press” part, all of these editorial submissions are free and provided at no charge. Materials can be sent to pr@fohonline.com. So if you have news to share, take a few minutes to spread the word.

We’ll be listening!
