If you think about it, nearly any end-address mic can be used in an overhead hanging application, whether for theater, orchestra or choir sound reinforcement. Yet an unobtrusive — almost unseen — appearance is often highly desirable in this application. Thus, miniature condenser capsules that can be separated from the electronics for a near-invisible appearance are the choice in most venues. Checking out a variety of what’s available revealed a market teeming with models that combine excellent performance in a stealth design —in a wide range of price points.
