NICOSIA, Cyprus – Prosonic audio lights LTD, which recently installed a new Adamson system in the recently-built in the Latsia industrial area, led a two-day workshop at the venue, giving new and existing customers the chance to talk directly with the manufacturers.
About 30 industry professionals attended the event, which was the first Adamson seminar held in Cyprus. The focus was on hands-on training using recently-introduced gear and software.
The new system was used to serve as an example for discussions about line source array principles, system design principles, computer aided system design (using Adamson Shooter software), rigging, amplification, processing (using Lake Controller software) and hands-on sessions featuring measuring and system tuning.
Adamson sent David Dohrmann, who travels extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East as an applications engineer, for the seminar. He was also very familiar with the Pyles Live club system – he had supervised and fine-tuned the installation of the club's new sound system himself.
The house FOH engineer, Jim Dimitri, was impressed with the small footprint of the Adamson Metrix system. "I just can't believe that a box that size can deliver so much power and such clarity," he said.
The club system consists of 10 Adamson 5 degree Metrix enclosures, two 15 degree Metrix Ws and four Metrix Subs. There are also Adamson M15 multi-purpose monitors being used as side fills and wedges.
Lab.gruppen 10000Q amplifiers power the system. A single Lab.gruppen Lake LM 26 processor is used for the mains and an Adamson M Series Processor is used to control the monitor rig.
David Dohrmann recalled the installation day. "After fine-tuning the system in the afternoon, I was eager to hear it with a live band in the evening. It was incredible to discover the amazing Pyles Live club's house band. For a long time, I have not heard such a good live show. I have to add that FOH engineer Jim Dimitri is an excellent engineer, and contributed to the experience, which left me with a smile on my face. I know now that our PA is in good hands, and will cement our leadership in high-end live sound reproduction in Cyprus."
Chrysanthou Christos from ProSonic and attendees in affirming that the seminar did what it set out to do: broaden the attendees' understanding of for the principles behind quality sound. "David Dohrmann helped us immensely with that, and everybody walked away impressed," Christos said.
