Earthworks, Inc.'s SR40V High Definition Vocal Microphone features a 9mm back electret condenser-type transducer with a diaphragm measuring 5 microns, Hyper Cardioid polar pattern, and a frequency range spanning from 80 Hz – 40 kHz.
The new SR40V promises a combination of flat, extended frequency response with fast impulse response. Its circuitry is handcrafted to match each capsule for optimum performance.
With a self-noise rating of 22 dB SPL (A weighted), a sensitivity rating of 10 mV/Pa (-40 dBV/Pa), and a Peak Acoustic Output rating of 145 dB SPL, the new SR40V combines extremely low handling noise with robust performance and output capability to enable vocal performers to have a natural sounding, up-front presence.
Each microphone is handmade in the USA and features a rugged stainless steel body. It is expected to be available Q1, 2011. Pricing has not yet been determined.
