ZURICH, Switzerland – The opera house in Zurich has been equipped with a new communications system from Riedel Communications. Riedel, a manufacturer of fiber, intercom, audio and radio technology, provided a system combining Artist digital matrix intercom and Performer partyline technology.
At the heart of the installation at the opera house is a Riedel Artist 64 digital matrix intercom system. It has redundant power supplies and CPUs to optimize system stability. In all, 11 Artist 1000 control panels are used at the opera house.
A C44 Performer digital partyline system interface is used with 10 Riedel Performer beltpacks, updating the flexibility of traditional partyline technology with digital audio quality for speech transmission.
"For our communications infrastructure we needed an installation that we could absolutely rely on in terms of stability and flexibility. Our solution with Artist and Performer provides a versatile system that can be adapted to the specific demands of every production," said the Opera House in Zurich's Elfried Roller.
A Riedel RiFace also integrates mobile radio transceivers into the wired intercom installation. The staff can also use Riedel Director software to program of the comms infrastructure with drag-and-drop functionality.
