LIVERPOOL, U.K. – Adlib Audio has become a member of the L-Acoustics K1/KUDO Pilot Program, joining other PA companies in field-testing the system in collaboration with the L-Acoustics R&D team.
Adlib, which owns existing V-DOSC and dV-DOSC systems, has invested in the standard K1 package: 48 K1 large-format line source cabinets, 24 K1-SB subwoofers, and an additional 36 KUDO cabinets. Adlib has also purchased more SB28 low-frequency enclosures, LA8 amplified controllers, and LA-RAK touring racks for its rental stock.

"We continually invest in the development of our inventory and pride ourselves on the service that we provide and the presentation of equipment," said Adlib director Dave Kay. "Investing in the K1 seemed like a logical decision. L-Acoustics has a great team of people and is a great company to work with.

"As one of the most recent companies to join the V-DOSC rental network, we were able to invest in the LA8 amplifier platform from the beginning, so we have always used the K-Standard for amplification and system control. The new system is a great development and improvement of an already fantastic product – it gives a much smoother horizontal coverage and utilizes newer and more efficient components. The internal rigging is superb and gives all of the benefits of a rigid rigging system."

Adlib's existing clients have expressed an interest in using the new K1/KUDO system, Kay added. "We are also looking forward to forging stronger links with other members within the rental network and have a few cross rentals happening this summer with some of the European partners."

Twelve of Adlib's engineers have completed the first stage of K1 training, with more to come next year. The company has also just ordered 30 boxes of the new KARA modular line source system to further expand its L-Acoustics inventory.
